Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered
Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered is Aspyr's Feb 14, 2025 collection of The Last Revelation, Chronicles and The Angel of Darkness, with switchable new graphics, modern controls and an expanded photo mode. Critics were lukewarm (69 on OpenCritic), players warmer (89% positive on Steam), as of Nov 2, 2026.
Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered is Aspyr's collection of The Last Revelation, Tomb Raider Chronicles and The Angel of Darkness, the last three Core Design games, which Crystal Dynamics calls the "Darkness Trilogy"; it came out on Feb 14, 2025, a year to the day after Tomb Raider I-III Remastered. Like that collection, it lets you switch between the original polygons and the remastered graphics at any time, and adds modern controls and a bigger photo mode. Critics liked it less than the first collection, mostly because of the games themselves: OpenCritic's Top Critic Average is 69, with 46% recommending it, while 89% of 1,552 Steam reviews are positive, as of Nov 2, 2026. What is in Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered?
Three games that follow one thread. In The Last Revelation Lara frees the Egyptian god Set and races her old mentor Werner Von Croy across Egypt; in Tomb Raider Chronicles she is presumed dead, and her friends recall her past adventures at a memorial; in The Angel of Darkness she is wrongly accused of murder and goes on the run through Paris and Prague. Steam's page sums it up as Lara's journeys to Cairo, Rome and Paris. The Angel of Darkness is the one Core Design built for PlayStation 2 in a new engine, and the game whose reception ended Core's run on the series in 2003.
What is new?
- New graphics you can switch off. A new lighting engine, more detailed character models and textures; one button returns the original look, per TechRadar's review. The Last Revelation and Chronicles gain the most; The Angel of Darkness, already a PS2 game, less. The original full-motion cutscenes are kept as they were.
- Modern controls for each game, as in I-III Remastered, beside the classic tank controls.
- New moves: a slide-to-run animation, two new ledge-hang animations that save Lara from some falls, and a turn-around-in-place move for the modern scheme only.
- Quality-of-life additions: an on-screen ammo counter, weapon shortcuts, boss health bars and skippable cutscenes.
- Photo mode, expanded with stances, expressions, outfits and a free-moving Lara, plus a new flyby camera that strings up to 20 camera points into a cinematic shot; at review it worked in The Last Revelation and Chronicles but not The Angel of Darkness.

Reviews
On Metacritic it holds 70 on PC from 31 critics, 65 on PS5 and 62 on Xbox Series X, with a user score of 7.8, as of Nov 1, 2026; on OpenCritic, 69 from 80 critic reviews. That is below Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, which holds 75 on both, and the reviews mostly blame the source games rather than Aspyr's work. Nintendo Life gave 6 out of 10 and called it "an odd release" because only one of its three games is a genuine classic. Eurogamer gave 4 out of 5, Push Square 7 out of 10, and TheSixthAxis 5 out of 10, all per OpenCritic.
TechRadar praised the visuals and the flyby camera but found the modern controls "frustratingly cumbersome": the tutorial's on-screen instructions do not match the modern buttons, and switching weapons still means pausing. Players were kinder than critics: 89% of 1,552 Steam reviews were positive on Nov 1, 2026, a higher share than the first collection's 83%.
The AI voice controversy
In 2025 an update to the collection drew a legal complaint. Françoise Cadol, the French voice of Lara Croft, sent Aspyr a legal notice alleging that an August 2025 patch had used AI to alter her performance in the French version without her consent, and asked for sales to be paused until it was fixed, Engadget reported on Sep 11, 2025. Aspyr then released an update removing all AI voiceover content from the collection, Game Rant reported on Sep 22, 2025. Whether the legal action has been resolved is not known from any source read for this page, as of Nov 2, 2026. The episode came up again in coverage of AI in Legacy of Atlantis in June 2026.
How long is it, and where to buy
HowLongToBeat lists the whole collection at 48 hours, as of Nov 2, 2026; The Last Revelation alone is about 19.5 hours, the longest of the three. More on How Long to Beat Tomb Raider.
It is sold on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG, and with I-III Remastered in the Tomb Raider I-VI Remastered Bundle. PlayStation Plus subscribers got it among the November 2026 monthly games, and Steam had it 80% off until Nov 6, 2026. Unlike I-III Remastered, it was not on Switch 2 or mobile in what we read.
