There are two Tomb Raider series. Netflix's animated Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, with Hayley Atwell as Lara, ran for two seasons, from Oct 10, 2024 to a second and final season on Dec 11, 2025. The Amazon live-action series
Prime Video greenlit the series in May 2024. Phoebe Waller-Bridge created and writes it, executive produces and is co-showrunner with Chad Hodge; Jonathan van Tulleken directs and executive produces. It comes from a pact between Crystal Dynamics and Amazon MGM Studios through Story Kitchen's first-look deal.
Sophie Turner was cast as Lara in September 2025, and Prime Video showed a first look of her in the classic outfit in mid-January 2026, as production began. Filming paused in late March 2026 after what Amazon MGM Studios called Turner's "minor injury", with the pause expected to last two weeks; The Sun's report that she aggravated a back injury was not confirmed by the production. On Jun 2, 2026 the first season was still filming and no second season had been ordered, though Turner said she expects to play Lara for years.
